New Residence
Birmingham
Currently under construction, this new residence overlooks a wooded ravine in one of the mountainous residential districts of Birmingham. Inspired by the city’s rich history of 1920s Garden Suburb development, and with a nod to the owner’s decade of residency near Bucks County, Pennsylvania, this painted white stone and shingled house lives like a series of cottages. Designed to be one room deep, windows and doors are positioned to create multiple axial views between the interior and exterior. With the additions of landscape design by Norman Kent Johnson and interior décor by Georgette Sturam, the owner’s vision of how they prefer to live will become a reality.
